Traffic Pattern:
Traffic pattern at an airport is a standard path for coordinating air traffic. It differs from “straight-in approaches” and “direct climb-outs” in that aircraft using a traffic pattern remain close to the airport. Airport traffic patterns (Left/Right) are developed to ensure that air traffic is flown into and out of an airport safely. (Consult the AFD- Airport Facility Director)

After completing the required air work (or maneuvers), the applicant has to return to the airport of departure or in some cases a nearby airport to complete the takeoff and landings.
