Avustralya’da pisti ıskalayan uçak denize indi

Avustralya’nın kuzeyinde bulunan Mikronezya’daki Chuuk Havalimanı’na iniş yapmak isterken pisti ıskalayan Boeing 737-800 tipi bir yolcu uçağı lagüne indi.
Air Niugini flight lost height shortly before landing on runway 04 at Chuuk Airport, Micronesia (PTTK) and ended up in the water. All 47 on board escaped and were rescued. The weather deteriorated before landing.
The Boeing 737-800 hit the water on low approach to Chuuk Airport and ended up in a lagoon. The aircraft stayed afloat long enough so that all 47 on board survived and were rescued.
Images strongly suggest the fuselage received major structural damage. There is a clear line of buckling just aft of the wings.

Papua Yeni Gine’nin Niugini Havayollarına ait uçağın sosyal medyada dolaşan fotoğraflarında hemen sahilin ilerisindeki sığ suya oturduğu görülüyor.
BBC’ye açıklama yapan Chuuk Havalimanı müdürü Jimmy Emilio, “Uçak pistten yaklaşık 150 metre ilerideki lagüne indi.” dedi.

YOLCULARDAN DURUMU AĞIR OLAN KİMSE YOK

Emilio, henüz kazanın nedeninin belirlenemediğini de söyleyerek, “İncelemeler yarın erken saatte başlayacak ama şu an havalimanı olağan akışına devam ediyor” şeklinde konuştu.

Air Niugini flight PX73 (Pohnpei – Chuuk – Port Moresby) took-off at Pohnpei Airport for a scheduled flight to its intermediate stop at Chuuk having Port Moresby as its ultimate destination.

The flight proceeded normally until final approach to runway 04 at Chuuk Airport, Weno Island, Micronesia when the weather conditions deteriorated. According to eyewitness accounts and local media reports, the aircraft descended below the proper approach path until it hit the water surface ending in the lagoon approximately 200 m from the beginning of the runway.

Despite water ingress, the aircraft managed to stay afloat for some time allowing passenger evacuation via the overwing exits and the forward passenger door. The Boeing later submerged below the window line.

All 36 passengers and all eleven crewmembers were able to get off-board unhurt and all were rescued by small boats.
