- Private Pilot Airmen Certification Standards (ACS) :
- The
goal of the airman certification process is to ensure the student pilot possesses the knowledge, ability to
manage risks, and skill consistent with the privileges of the certificate or
rating being exercised.
– During the ground and flight portion of the practical test, the FAA expects evaluators (DPE’s) to assess the student pilot’s mastery of the topic in accordance with the level of learning most appropriate for the specified task. The oral questioning will continue throughout the entire practical test related to the ACS Subject Titles.
– The FAA has set out these maneuvers in the Airplane Airman Certification Standards (ACS), which details the pass/fail requirements for each maneuver. If you are unable to complete any of the maneuvers, you will fail the Practical Test, called “letter of discontinuance” and will need to test again.
– As a Student Pilot, you’re supposed to be familiar with all tasks and objectives of ACS determined by the FAA.
